Finding this legendary Japanese set in fully operational condition is rare, but finding it in this spectacular, pristine state is almost impossible. Both the car and the metal track look like new, remaining exceptionally clean and bright. This piece features the highly coveted. Body lithography rather than the more common red version. It is an exceptionally scarce find for variation collectors. In the vintage Japanese tin toy market, a distinct color variant like this heavily influences desirability and overall market value. Authentic Marusan Magic Wonder MG Tin Litho Car (Pristine / Like New). Original Matching Metal Track Layout (Clean / Like New). (Note: Original cardboard box is not included). Because most production runs favored red, a documented bright yellow variant can command a. 20% to 35%+ premium. Over the standard red model among advanced collectors who specialize in variation hunting. Why Color Variants Matter to Collectors. Japanese post-war toy factories often ran secondary colors in much smaller batches to fulfill specific export orders or test regional markets, making surviving clean examples incredibly rare. The bright yellow lithography acts as a fantastic visual contrast to the red-dressed drivers and multi-colored turning umbrella, making it a highly striking display piece. The vast majority of Marusan’s 1950s production run for the Magic Wonder MG used a traditional red lithography. The bright yellow version was produced in significantly smaller numbers-often reserved for specific export markets or short trial runs-making it a highly sought-after prize for variation hunters. The yellow chassis provides a stunning visual contrast against the red-dressed figures and the multi-colored rotating umbrella. This is a top-tier example of mid-century Japanese automotive tin toy craftsmanship, perfectly preserved. It is ready for immediate display in any high-end vintage toy or tin litho collection. This is a 100% authentic, original post-war 1950s Marusan toy made in Japan. It is not a modern reproduction or a reissue. Q: How rare is the yellow version compared to the red version? The red version is the standard model most commonly found on the market. The bright yellow variant is significantly scarcer, produced in much smaller quantities for specific export batches, making it highly desirable for variation collectors. There is no heavy wear, no rust, and the tin lithography retains its deep, rich original factory colors. Q: Does the wind-up mechanism actually work, and does the umbrella turn? Yes, the clockwork wind-up motor is fully operational and runs strong. The delicate mechanical action is 100% functional-the umbrella smoothly rotates exactly as it should while the car moves down the track. Q: Is the original box or the wind-up key included?
